Mixed Use’s second hybrid event, entitled WILDTHINGS, took place on June 25, 2016 at the Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco’s Dogpatch neighborhood. Twenty-seven select individuals attended, including local curators, tech engineers and executives, architects, music producers, major collectors, and more.

WILDTHINGS showcased work by Oakland-based artist Joel Frank, whose large-scale installation Last Feral Snake dominated the main room of the gallery space. The thematic framework of the event was inspired by Frank’s practice, which investigates the relation between humans and the natural environment. Dana Younkin, the chef de cuisine at renowned San Francisco restaurant Boulevard, expanded on this theme by incorporating ingredients like wild giant lobster, wild asparagus, and wild berries. Skylark Wines provided pairings of for each course, bringing the terroir of Sonoma to the experience.
